  • Introduction to Technology Integration for Educators (Hands-on training for ETEC 415)
    (dates tbd) 2 KS B-Credits
    Provide potential distance learning instructors with hands-on opportunities to familiarize themselves with a variety of technologies for integration into the classroom.

  • ETEC 415: Technology For Teachers (dates tbd) 3 College Credits
    Introduction to application of educational technology in teaching and learning using strategies in design, selection, development, integration, and evaluation.

  • Introduction to Distance Learning Technologies (Hands-on training for ETEC 649)
    (dates tbd) 2 KS B-Credits
    Provide potential distance learning instructors with hands-on opportunities to familiarize themselves with a variety of distance learning technologies.

  • ETEC 649: Development of Online Courses (dates tbd) 3 College Credits
    Planning, design, and development of online instruction for educational and training settings. Implementation of online course elements such as student interaction, course management, testing, and content delivery using an authoring environment such as Web course tools or equivalent

    * Note: These courses have been redesigned by Kamehameha Schools Virtual Strategies & Distance Learning to focus on training educators for development of distance learning courses to be delivered to Hawaiian learners. Enrollment is limited and all interested educators are required to complete the enclosed application form.

Participant Commitment:

  • Enrollment and completion of all courses.
  • Attendance at occassional mandatory face-to-face meetings for orientation and at the end of both courses. Inter-island travel will be provided for neighbor island participants.

Target Audience:

     Educators of Hawaiian learners (or are interested in teaching Hawaiian learners) with an interest in developing and facilitating distance learnin curriculum.
