Aʻo Makua Program Announcement
February 07, 2016
Aloha kākou,
Hauʻoli makahiki hou (Happy New Year)! Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning is grateful to all our learners. Your passion for making Hawaiian
culture and ‘ōlelo a part of your lives and the lives of your ‘ohana has enriched us throughout these years. The new year also brings an important announcement and opportunity that we would like to share with you regarding our A‘o Makua Program.
Distance Learning is now a part of a new group within the Kamehameha Schools educational system. This transition has provided us with the opportunity to focus on the exploration of digital innovations and allow us to broaden and diversify the reach of blended and online learning. As we make this transition, our A‘o Makua courses and program will also change. The June 2016 courses will be the last courses offered in its current form.
We are excited about this transition and would like to encourage all those interested to please register for any of the remaining seven courses. We recommend anyone who took E Ola Ka ‘Ohana (H1) and have interest in taking Pili ‘Ohana (H2) to please register for the Ku‘u Wahi Noho (H3) course. The H3 course contains H2 review materials. To register, ke ʻoluʻolu (please) click on the course links below.

It has been a pleasure these past nine years to aʻo aku, aʻo mai (share and learn) with all our learners. We want to mahalo our Aʻo Makua ʻohana
who supported, inspired and shared their aloha with us. We hope you will continue to remain with us as we embark on the exploration of digital innovations.
Me ke aloha pumehana (With warm regards),
Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning
