The following schools currently offer ‘Ike Hawai‘i online courses to their students: Hawai‘i Virtual Learning Network (HVLN), E-School Moloka‘i High School, Hawaiian Language Immersion Baldwin High School, CSAP Kawaikini New Century Public Charter School Hakipu‘u Learning Center Hālau Kū Māna Charter School Elite Element Academy Hālau Lōkahi Kua o Ka Lā New Century Public Charter School WASC Accreditation - The ‘Ike Hawai‘i Distance Learning Program is currently being reviewed for accreditation.

The award winning award winning ‘Ike Hawai‘i Distance Learning Program encourages all high school students to participate in a unique experience of connecting to their culture while building on their 21st century skills. Online, semester courses are offered in Hawaiian history, culture and literature.

Students who successfully complete four or more courses will receive an ‘Ike Hawai‘i certificate and be eligible for internship opportunities with Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning Branch.

Upon satisfactory completion of each course, students will receive a Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning semester credit. Students are limited to enrollment in one course per semester. *Students need to check with their respective schools regarding credit transfers.

Jerina Dement, KSDL intern, had the opportunity to use the skills that she learned to assist new students in the program and develop interactive learning materials.

Overall goals for 'Ike Hawai'i Distance Learning Program:

Provide culturally based curriculum and opportunities for Hawaiian learners to succeed in a distance learning environment.
Encourage learner self discovery through Hawaiian cultural experiences to shape one's own life or "world view"
Increase learner's technology skills
Prepare learner's readiness (academic, emotional, social) for higher education
