Notes: Aloha! My name is Tiare Ahu and I am from the island of O'ahu. I graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1994 and from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in 1998 with a Bachelor's in English and a certificate in Hawaiian Language. I also graduated from Chaminade University with my Masters in Education, specializing in Literacy. Currently, I am working, one course at a time, towards my doctorate in Education. I started working with Distance Learning in 2003 as a member of the first Online Instructor Training Institute (OITI). At that time and for the subsequent four years, I was a 9th grade English teacher at the Kapālama campus, integrating technology into my classroom. In 2007, after giving birth to my first child, an energetic boy named Alika, I took a break from the classroom. A year later, I find myself working as an Academic Support Specialist at Kapalama's Student Support Center. In addition to my current duties, I am working with the DL Department as a part-time instructor in the A'o Makua courses. I look forward to being a part of this exciting initiative! |
