These are the recommended browsers for your use in this program. It is also highly recommended that you have more than one browser installed on your computer. This will ensure that you have an alternative way to access the course in case it is the browser that is causing technical issues.
To check your browser version:
- Windows: Go to the Help menu, click About Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox

Internet Explorer 7: Problems with the Discussion Board
We will be using the discussion board as a means of communication in the course. Sometimes, you may have difficulty typing your message if you are using Internet Explorer 7. If you are using Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP, you can do this ahead of time to prevent the problem:

Go to "Tools" -> "Internet Options" -> "Security Tab"

Click on "Trusted Sites"

Click on the "Sites" button

Uncheck "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in
this zone"

In the top textbox, type "http://blackboard.ksbe.edu/"

Click the "Add" button

Check "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone"
If you are using Internet Explorer 7 on Windows Vista, you will need to do this after you login to the course to prevent the problem:
1. Login to Blackboard
2. In the Homeroom Tab, under the "Tools" area, click "Personal Information."
3. Click "Set Visual Text Box Editor Options"
4. Click the "Unavailable" radio button.
5. Click Submit.
