Central Pacific and Beyond Schedule
CHECK IN INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTERS
1. SCHEDULE: Please check http://www.bfranklin.edu for any
schedule changes. If you are one of the "late arrivals" your name may not
be posted as per "last minute" arrangements with the organizers. We are
also posting our Central Pacific and Beyond schedule at: http://ksdl.ksbe.edu/PPDLA/events/glnd_2003.html
CHECKING
IN:
2. TELEPHONE CALLERS: The phone number you
are to call in is: 1+ 603 413 8003.
This phone room is located in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. The
only charge for joining by telephone is the your "normal" rate from
where you are calling to Manchester, N.H. USA. You may consider the purchase,
on-line, of a prepaid calling card. Check Google for prepaid calling
cards
appropriate to the country you are calling from. Pre-paid calling cards
can be VERY cheap!
NOTE: If you are speaking by telephone, you
should "check in" to
the telephone room about 30 minutes ahead of the time you are to speak.
You only need to mention your presence, at which time you can leave the
telephone room. Then, a few minutes before you schedule time, please
come back to the room and, quietly, announce yourself. This insures a
smooth
transition from one speaker to the next.
Presenters in Hawaii will be provided a local connection with the
PEACESAT phone bridge or access to Talking Communities.

* Polycom Videoconferencing: This is planned to
be coordinated through Roger Boston at Houston Community College
and PEACESAT State Telehealth Access Network in
Honolulu. As of 14 November there have been some access problems.
Roger Boston reports:
To all:
We have been advised that my college will have restored the ability to
make live webcast by tomorrow.
We have determined it will be impossible to use Talking Communities
platform Sunday from Houston, the network problems cannot
be resolved before next week.
Therefore, for the Polycom closed session to be experienced by users on
the web (and them to have the opportunity to talk back) those
users will have to leave the Talking Communities location and resettle
themselves on
the Chatterbox Platform, at
http://download.howudodat.com/cgi-bin/cblaunch.cgi?server=de8.hccs.edu&room=Special_rb
for the duration of this portion of the voyage.
However, if these participants only want to see and hear what is
happening inside the Polycom Conference, they can view the
real media stream platform-independent at:
http://tc1.hccs.edu/cmat/itnw1321/conference.htm
We'll provide an update tomorrow, when I see it confirmed that we
have recovered our ability to webcast from Houston.
